Where did that month go ! We are now into February & we can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel Spring is just around the corner. The snow drops have just come out & I can see little shoots of daffodils starting.
Bonnie should be coming in heat any day now & hopefully will go to Oscar for are first litter of Cavaliers for 2011. We would hope for solid colour of Black & Tan from this litter & maybe Ruby as well. Bonnie & Oscar are both sweet natured dogs. Oscar we aquired at 1 year old last year. He is very cute chap & I am quite taken with his lovely attitude & manners. I jokingly say to him that he has " velvet lips & slinky hips " as he has got a lovely brown velvety muzzle which is very kisseable & he wiggles his bum side ways when you beckon him & speak to him. I must admit I like male dogs & in the Cavalier & Poodle aggression in the male is not an issue they are as loving as any girl.
Lucinda Bonnie's sister is due in heat at the end of March & she will go to Rollo my sister's Apricot, Miniature Poodle & produce crossbreeds that are known as Cavapoos or Cavoodles hopefully. Lucinda is very much like her sister with a very happy desposition & Rollo is a gent who has a brilliant temperment.
Roxy & Sammy who are two of Lucy's Cavapoo pups that are nearly 9 weeks old. Sammy leaves us on Saturday for his new family & Roxy will leave to be with Tracey's family at the end of this month. They are both such dears & just having the two after their siblings already left last week as allowed them more attention individually from us. Sammy is a confident young man but not to boisterious or rough & enjoys human company & contact. Roxy is also a confident girl but waits for her brother to make the first move & then is happy to follow. She is gentle to play with & enjoys cuddles & falling asleep on your lap. It will seem very quiet for a day or two when these two are gone but we do have little Primrose to keep us on are toes & when teamed up with her best mate Smudge are a real double act.
Below are a sequence of photos of the little rascal Primrose at the milkbar when she is now nearly 6 months old. Sammy & Roxy the two Cavapoo pups are Lucy's pups but Lucy seems happy to let Primrose who is not her pup have a suckle. I actually thought that Primrose just licked her teats & had lost the suck reflex but she was sucking her on this occasion. Primrose is a real bundle of quirky fun & a very bright little girl who I think knows how to work it with her cuteness.
“The greatest pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him, and not only will he not scold you,but he will make a fool of himself, too.”
― Samuel Butler
