It is the long wait now to see if Lucy is in pups. We really do not treat them any different at this stage but just make sure that they do not get over stressed about anything but as you will see in the photo below Lucy is a pretty chilled out girl. By 42 days though a bitch if only carrying a small litter should be starting to show with rounding behind the ribs, her teats start to get bigger & sometimes clear thick discharge is seen from her vulva as long as not smelly, discoloured or bloody this is normal, this is mocus coming away from her cervical plug which gets replaced.
Just got Lucinda to come off heat now as we are not mating her this heat & hopefully will not have be juggling dogs around making sure there are not any meetings in draughfty gate ways & an unexpected litter. The boys have already started to be more amiacable with each other & tetesterone levels are lowering.
