Took these photo's of Henry and Smudge this morning, settling down for my departure on the school run with the children and to await my arrival back. On the blog, "Non pupil day" on the 15/10/2014, I wrote about the hopeful pairing of Henry and Smudge and discussed the photos that showed Henry sitting by Smudge and maybe making some wonder whether Henry was a bit to big to be mated with Smudge. These photos though are of them lying together, Henry then does not look that much bigger than Smudge, infact they sort of look almost the same size in the body and hopefully shows that the only real size difference is their lengths of leg, which does not cause concern in the birthing process, if a pup has longer or shorter legs than Mum. We can see in these photos that Henry and Smudge are more alike, looking more homogeneous in size, minus their leg length.
I must admit to opening my email account with a slight feeling of trepidation this morning after yesterdays blog, worried that it might be full of emails from Poundlane puppy homes, saying their pup had Dermoid cysts or had, had them. I'm holding on to a piece of wood like grim death at the moment, I really would be heart broken if evidence comes to light, that I should not mate Henry and Smudge together and I hope I can resist good old cognitive dissonance to still justify the cause, give us a slap if I'm looking like I am.
I must be quick now as it's one of our children's Birthdays this weekend and I have a chocolate cake to ice and decorate. October is a busy month for Birthdays with us, with two of our childrens Birthdays falling in this month, also my Mum's Birthday and Mother-in-laws Birthday and a few more other relatives beyond that also fall in it to, I am still in the process of getting my dogs skulls measured and with the children home this week on half term I will see if I can make that a project for one of the days, collecting dog skull data. I really must get on now, the chocolate butter icing beckons.
