We are now down to two pups left from Dolly's & Ysabel's litters. The two left to leave are from Ysabel's litter being Sadie & Izzabel. Sadie leaves tomorrow to join her new family & Izzabel we have decided to keep. As we already have her Mum with the same name but just spelt differently we have decided to call her Belle which I think means beautiful in french.
I am so very sorry to the people who were going to have her but I have done what I feel is best for Belle & we are fully comitted to her as she becomes a fully fledged member of our pack. We hope to have news from the orthopedic vet tomorrow whether any surgical intervention is needed but I am positive & how she has been improving on the leg feel mother nature given time with lots of TLC will be the best medicine.
The updates on pups leaving are already steadily coming in. A couple teething problems must be expected but with a bit of positive support from me & perseverance from each family these can be soon overcome.
Louise has told me Mason is settling in but is a bit nippy. Pups explore their world with their mouths & will try to nip & chew your hands just like they would a toy. Pups can be trained not to do this.Louise you are doing everything right just keep at it & you will be on top of it before you know it.
Poppy's family have sent me some lovely photo's of Poppy as she explore's her new world. Julie rang me to tell me they are getting on well but was a little worried that she might not be eating enough. This is a very common worry with a new pup & maybe in the first days in their new homes they may be so interested in everything new around them that they lack concentration to eat but as long as they are energetic when awake, bright, sleeping well & growing they are getting enough to eat. Julie when she sent me these photo's has said her eating has picked up as they have found out she really likes chopped ham & have been adding a little to her food which has encouraged her to eat more. & are not worried about this now. Julie said she has amazing ball control for a 9 week old puppy !
The photo's below are hot off the press as just about to publish blog & noticed a new email from Tony & Gina who's family Alfie has joined. He was the first to leave of the litter just before Christmas & at 9 weeks old is dry through the night & sits on command. Tony & Gina are first time dog owners but I know with the energy they are putting into Alfie he must be thinking they are old pros. Keep the great work up Tony & Gina.
Thanks everyone for the beautiful photo's & letting me know how you are getting on.
