Six weeks old !
Sleepy pups tonight. Lucy's Cavapoo pups are now 6 weeks old & time for them to go at 8 weeks old to their new homes seems to be approaching all to quickly but we are keeping Roxy on for a couple more weeks for Tracey so she will probably get a little spoilt by us all.
All these pups have hopefully found their new homes with the last pup being viewed on Sunday & with two people waiting to see if he is reserved I am sure he will have his special family to go to soon.
The pups now are real fun & confidently investigateing every corner of are home & today whilst hoovering were so intent on attacking the hoover in play that I had to put them back in their pen so I could continue without running them over or hoovering them up.
They bomb around skidding on are wood floors & then happily crash out on a big mattress cushion that we have near the telly. The photos tonight of the pups are them crashed out last night & photos with their names under as we have a Albert, Bailey, Barney, Big Poppy, Roxy, Little Poppy & the last boy who will hopefully have his name soon.
Lucy is excelling as a mum & is looking rather to well & has blossomed with her seven little charges. She has though started to moult which is hormones just like a woman & her coat will thin out now & soon grow back but we will have to put up with being covered in her hair for a day or two as Lucy likes her cuddles. She still allows her pups a couple suckles a day but they now sleep through the night not needing attention from us or mum.
Muddy Millie & Pupster !
As you will see from the photos below that Pupster & Millie have yet again been through the undergrowth & mud in hot pursuit of the Devonshire wildlife & I must say I have started useing a whistle with them a few months ago & although they bolt off like a greyhound out of a trap when they get a scent or sight of are local wildlife, with persistent whistling they do come back a little delayed but they come back & then lots of praise & a little treat. Either of these two are perfect at recall on their own but together like a lot of dogs they egg each other on & the ears are then turned off but useing a whistle gives a further range for recall so when the ears suddenly work again they can hopefully hear you & come back better late than never.
It has been very wet the last couple days & this does make for more work with lots of wet dogs & wet towels. It has been that wet that even the dogs have not been keen to get out at first but once out just get drawn to the mud like magnets.
It is the start of the weekend my children actually did Rugby training last weekend which was the first time for over a month & I think that we may not be playing this week as they have matches but never mind they will do fitness training up the woods chaseing after Millie & Pupster this weekend. Luckily my children love animals & treat them with respect & think of all are dogs as part of are family. A dog if the right one can be a great friend to a child & teach them a lot about respect, love & loyalty.
Lastly thanks for the lovely comments Vanessa & Tracey but it works both ways as you have like previous people who come to me shown that you have put time & patience into finding the right pup & put work in researching all about the right start for your pups & asked lots of questions which shows you really care & see your pup as becoming a member of your family & a member of your family is a life commitment. Lastly you have got to know the person who has bred your pup & then allowed me to follow their progress which is a bonus for me. Thankyou !
