Lastly tonight got these two funny, cute photos. The one on the left is big Alfie a Cavapoo pup asleep on the floor on top of some newspaper he had been playing with & one of the Cavalier pups is with him, Poppy is fast asleep cuddled into him. The photo on your right is Cyril chilled out asleep with his ear in the water bowl & his tongue pokeing out. Pups they do make you laugh.

Dolly's Cavapoo pups are licking their wounds tonight after being Vaccinated & Microchipped today. Very often a pup can be a bit sore after its vaccination & especially after it is microchipped as the needle for the microchip is a big one & you can often feel the microchip under the skin after it is injected, sometimes you can get a lump appear which should disappear after a while. Vaccinating your dog though protects them against Canine Destemper (Hardpad), infectious Canine Hepatitis & Canine Parvovirus infection which are caused by viruses & two forms of Leptospirosis which are caused by bacteria & all of the above are life threatening for your pup if they get them.
Pups can have their first vaccination around 8 weeks old & should then recieve a second vaccination 2-4 weeks later & then after around a week after the second vaccination they are fully covered it is then advised in most cases to then have them vaccinated annually. I always advise people to get the second vaccination done as soon as possible so their pup gets protection at the earlist time.
Took a video of Ysabels pups who are 6 weeks old today & as you will see are getting up to mischief.

This is Foxy one of Ysabels girls she is 6 weeks old today & she is the little Cavalier with the Inguinal Hernia as you will see it is not effecting her but she will have surgery on Monday to correct it before it causes her any problems. Took this little video so Tracey can see her little girl in action & that she is a little dare devil as she trys to jump of the sofa. Click on video to enjoy.

A bit of fun tonight. Did this video last night of Smudge one of are Cavaliers & she is now just over 5 months old playing with Dolly's Cavapoo pups. Just watch how gentle Smudge is with her little friends & how easy it could be for her to hurt then but she so gently mouths & paws them it is a joy to watch, sorry about the quality but I think you can still see the fun they are having with Smudge.

Thought I would let you see some photos of are other dogs doing what comes naturally to dogs sleeping. Just makes you feel sleepy looking at them.
One photo though is of Bobby perching near my shoulder which is something my dearly departed Smidge used to do. Bobby is now around 7 months old & has just started to cock his leg when he has a wee & is quite funny to watch as he has not quite mastered it yet & half way few tends to wobble & then has to finish off on all fours. Dogs they do make you laugh.

Both litters of pups are going on fine. Dolly's pups are now 7 weeks old. They will be having their first vaccination & microchip on Thursday & in 7 days time they will start to go of to their new families. The time always goes so quickly as it only seems a wink of an eye ago that these pups were born but I am confident that they are going to good homes & that they will be an asset & a welcome member to their new families. Dolly is proving to be an exceptional Mum & has nutured & cared for these pups way above normal duty.
Ysabel's girls are doing fine but noticed a lump in Foxy's groin a few days ago & when the vet examined her he confirmed my suspicions that she has an Inguinal Hernia which is not to be confused with an Umbilical Hernia.
Inguinal Hernia is found in the groin area & is a hole or tear in the muscles that line the abdominal area & the contents inside then push through & there is a risk that if left that she could have her bladder pop through. The cause can be in such a young pup a rip caused from birth or it could be hereditary but as we know that she was born very fast that the tear may be from the high pressures of birth also this is Ysabels second litter & none of her other pups have had any signs of a Hernia. Foxy has been booked in next Monday to do the surgery as unlike an Umbilical Hernia which could be left till the pup was spayed because of the position of this Hernia it needs to be done now & she must never be bred from although Tracey just wants a pet & was looking to spay her in the future before she had this problem.
Tracey who is having Foxy & that is the name she choose for her still wishes to have her & we have come to an amiciable arrangement as I know how much they were looking forward to taking her home soon. Tracey has been very understanding as it is not a phone call I enjoy telling someone something is not quite right with their pup which they have so been waiting for but Tracey has shown great understanding & sympathy for my position. The surgery is highly successful & actually makes the groin stronger,  basically they stitch the hole up sometimes they need to use mesh if the hole is a bit big. She should of made a full recovery & stitches out within 2 weeks if everything goes well, so positive head on & everything will be okay although anything like this naturely does make you worry which is only being human.
Inguinal Hernias are quite rare in pups as this is the first one I have seen & hopefully the last but the more you do the more you see & in life you are permanently on a learning curve. In adult dogs it is seen when they have had a severe trauma which causes a rip in the muscles of the groin area. Foxy other than a lump in her groin which can be pushed back up is a perfectly healthy & happy pup & does not lack confidents & loves playing with her siblings or us.

Been abit busy the last few days so finally found time to do a blog. On Sunday Tinkerbells family came for a visit. Darren & Rachel had already meet Tinkerbell but on Sunday brought their children to meet her. Luckily it was a lovely afternoon so pups & children could run around in & outdoors. Tinkerbell is going to have a lovely fun family to become a member of & it was lovely to see the children all 11 of them with their & my children running around the place.
Dolly's pups are now 39 days old & are turning into fluffy little Teddy bears. They bomb round the house & hang of the curtains & leave me little accidents luckily though Dolly seems content to still pick up thier solid accidents which is what I call being a Mum beyond the call of duty. The weather except for a few heavy showers today has been a blessing when you have pups, as you can get them out & they want to go out & this really helps with house training.
Ysabel's girls are now getting out & about but being 10 days between Ysabel girls & Dolly's pups it is best to not let them mix unsupervised as the older pups at 10 days older makes alot of difference at this age & they can be abit overpowering for the younger ones.
As I sit & write this I have the lovely smell of odour de wet dog wafting around me as took dogs for quick run before nightful & the heavens opened & we all got soaked. Does not seem to matter how clean a dog is they all seem to smell the same wet.
Please click on photos to see full size & sorry still can not get photo caption to work but the coloured photos are Dolly & pups & the black & white photos are Ysabel & girls.

A little bit of fun now with my two oldest boys playing with Dolly's Cavapoo pups just before they were going to bed. These little balls of fluff are turning into lovely out going individuals. It is funny that they will sleep through all the noise my kids make but I only have to touch the door handle & they are bolt upright awake, bit like a newborn baby. They certainly will not mind noise when they leave us for their new homes which is coming up so fast now, only another 2 weeks & they will start to go of into the world.

Got a little video of Ysabels girls today & they are now getting more adventurous. Have not been feeling to good myself the last couple of days having caught some cold thing from the kids which has made me feel like I have swallowed barb wire but hopefully over the worst & feeling a bit better just very tired.
Millie, Pupster & Bobby went of on a little adventure on Friday. Found Bobby & Pupster alright but could not find Millie until a phone call asking if we had lost something & it was from a nearby small holding. So went to pick her up & Millie had again used her Millie magic & they were entranced by her so much that they had bathed her & even given her a little fed. Millie looked mighty pleased with herself & I suspect she has noted their generosity & kind nature thus it might not be the last time they may have meet her.
Smudge Millies daughter is going on fine after having seizures a while ago & has been of medication now for over 3 weeks with no signs of any seizures so fingers crossed hoping she is all fine now.

Ysabels girls are now 4 weeks old today & are just starting to want to adventure & go beyond the boundaries of their bed. They already wee on the newspaper rather than their bedding & it is amazing how quick they start to be clean if given the right enviroment. We have started allowing them out in the room but at this age the world is a frightening place & you must be careful not to frighten them. It will not be long before they are running around like Dolly's pups who are 10 days older.
