Got some lovely photos sent to me yesterday from Vanessa who has Alfie from Dolly's litter born back in August & is the brother of Lola who I posted photos of a couple blogs ago.
Alfie was the precocious pup of the litter & Vanessa chose him at a few days old as being the only boy the colour that she was looking for. She visited a couple times before taking him home & now we keep up with each other on facebook & Alfie has grown from a gorgeous pup into a playful & loving young boy.
Alfie when we had him was one of the pups that it would take some doing to forget. He was first to jump or fall out over the whelping boy, the first to escape over the plank we use on the end of the crate so Mum can go in & out as she pleases & first to greet any one. He loved to play with are older dogs & have fond memories of watching him scamping around the table in hot pursuit of Smudge. Thanks Vanessa for these lovely photos that I can put on my blog as I put on your facebook page " He has the X factor"

Yesterday afternoon I had to take one of are children to a party so dropped her off & went to Mole Valley store in South Molton. They are a country store selling animal food & animal, farm products. As I walked in I spyed dog beds on special offer & after the destruction by Smudge & Primrose of one of are dog beds decided to buy two of these plush looking beds. Click on photos below to see full size of are new dog beds.
Well all went well with are new dog beds as the dogs instantly excepted them into the dog bed pack & all was fine until we went to my in- laws for Sunday lunch & on my return found a kitchen full of fluff & two pups looking mighty pleased with themselves. Smudge & Primrose had broke the zipper & ripped the cushion inside to pieces. Quickly tidied up the mess as had Toni & family were coming to visit Big Poppy a pup they have reserved from Lucy's Litter. I think it is repairable so will have to get the sewing kit out & see what I can do.

                      Maddie

Thought I would catch up with photos sent to me of pups from us in their homes as having Lucy's pups born at the start of December have been a little busy & nearly forgot to post the lovely photos sent by Alison of Maddie & a lovely photo from Madeleine of Oliver in the snow.
Maddie is Smudge's sister & their mum is Millie. Maddie looks so much like mum & also is alike in temperment being very loving & well behaved. She is gorgeous even if I am a slight biased. Keep the great work up Alison & Ray she is a credit to you both.

                        Oliver

Below is another lovely photo of Oliver in the snow. Madeleine sent me some stunning photos a while ago of Oliver in the snow which I posted & then this photo arrived just before Christmas with greetings. Oliver is Maddie's brother & also looks like mum & displays her temperment but must also say that dad Charlie also has a brilliant temperment. Thanks again Madeleine for your updates on your special boy Oliver.

                            Lola

Recieved today these cute photo's of Lola who is a Cavapoo from Dolly' litter born on the 9th August 2010. She was the only black & white pup in the litter of seven pups so it is lovely to see how she is turning out. She was a quiet pup but liked going of on her own to check things out & Alison says she still has an inquisitive nature & is full of fun. Thanks for the update & to see Lola looking so happy & content.

R I P Doggy comforter !
Was greeted yesterday morning by two naughty pups, Smudge & Primrose who in the night had done the damage in the photo to are old faithful dog bed. Over the years this dog bed had suffered many assaults by are juvenile dogs but alas the night before last the fight was lost & the bed burst with Smudge & Primrose some how also breaking its zipper. This bed has given many hours of comfort to are dogs & will be missed. The cremation is tomorrow. Please no flowers but donations to a dog charity of your choice.
That was just a bit of fun but seriously please try & help animal rescue charities in your area as at this time of year they are over run with rescue animals & a donation does not need to be money it can be your time to do volountry work like just taking a rescue dog for a walk !

Pupster & Millie the two dreamers
After the dog bed being destroyed I thought lets go for a nice walk with the dogs up the woods, one whiff & a glance of a roe deer & Pupster & Millie were of in full flight with me in hot pursuit blowing my whistle for all it was worth. Well half an hour later with half a tree stuck in my hat Pupster & Millie thought is that someone blowing a whistle for us & then appeared at my feet looking like they had been dragged through a hedge backwards & smelling like a badgers bottom. So a bath was in order if they wanted to come back indoors. These two do give me the run around but they do always come back although slightly delayed & as I saw them flit through the under growth with gay abandon I thought what joy & for a moment only here & now exsisted the mind was cleared as I pursued them, they were dog & I was human & as far as they were concerned we were a pack in hot pursuit of supper but unlike them I new that a roe deer is only ever going to get caught by us in their dreams, so dream on my furry little friends.

Photos below are of the Cavapoo pups of Lucy's they are now 5 weeks old & the 3 girls are reserved & 1 boy is reserved leaving 3 boys available. Today Tracey & her family visited us to see the pups in real life for the first time & reserved her girl who they are calling Roxy. It was lovely to meet Tracey & her family as we have been emailing each other & talking on the phone now for around 3 months as Tracey came to me just as Lucy concieved this litter, so lots of correspondence later we finally got to meet. Tracey & family did a 10 hour round trip to visit us today & it was lovely that they took the time whilst hear to have a good play with all the girls & Lucy's pup. Tracey asked me lots of  the right questions & we obviously both like a good chat. They have reserved the middle sized girl who they are calling Roxy.
Great to finally meet you Tracey. Your family & you are sure to make brilliant carers for your Roxy.

Lots of photos tonight as have got my new camera going, so have gone a bit mad clicking at any dog that moved.
Kym came today & chose her boy from Lucy's litter of Cavapoo pups who are now 32 days old. She has gone for the biggest boy although there is not much differance between these four boys at the moment & to tell them apart when chosen I am putting a little bit of food colouring on their chests to be sure to know which pup is which. Kym's pup is marked with blue & if you look closely at the photos of the pups asleep you may be able to pick him out with his blue patch showing.
We are looking forward to meeting Tracey on Friday who has a little way to travel to get to us & will see the pups for the first time on Friday but has been with us since before the pups were born, so after lots of emails it will be nice to get to meet each other.
Patience is one of the most important virtues when looking for a puppy as it is not to be rushed into as if the wrong choices are made it can be devastating for the pup & yourself. Puppies need to go to a home were their will be time put to them as you will only get back what you put in. If you put in the time & lots of patience into the formative first year of your pup you then will reap the benefits for the rest of that pups life. So please always do lots of research about exactly what it entails to bring a pup or dog into your life !
Enjoy the slideshow, unfortunately for whatever reason tonight I am unable to caption them at the moment but hopefully that will not stop the enjoyment of looking at them.

A sleepy start to 2011 for are Cavaliers as you will see from the slide show below. Smudge is now over her heat so Bobby is allowed back with the girls & Pupster in the house fulltime again. As you can see by the photos he is growing into a handsome young man & is now 9 months old. He has a thing about sleeping on the back of the sofa & my old Smidge used to do this when he was a young dog.
It has been nice to see Bobby & Smudge back together as they are good mates with only a couple months between them in age. They have been back playing & chasing each other around the place with Primrose in hot pursuit who is Smudge's half sister.
Got the clippers out on New Years Day & attacked Pupster as this snowy weather & his hunting in the hedges he had aquired a few mats of hair under his belly so he has had his first haircut of 2011. The other dogs had the underside of their ears trimmed as I find this really helps with ear ventilation & if done carefully is not noticeable.
Charlie are Blenheim Stud dog saw the eye specialist just before Christmas & I forgot to mention this back then due to being a bit busy. He has had an on going eye problem due to scratching his eye back in the summer. The eye ulcerated whilst healing & a wart like thing appeared on the eye. My vet wanted a second opinion as to what was going on so Charlie saw the eye specialist that visits my vets every month. She was happy that the eye was okay & that the wart like thing was just scar tissue & just to carry on putting antibiotic drops in his eye twice a day & in time the eye will heal its self & that he probably will have a little lump on his eye forever but it is nothing to worry about as my vet & myself were concerned that it may of been some sort of cancer growth so was reliefed by this news. Charlie is such a bonnie boy & although this eye must of caused him pain at times always is a happy chap & in the morning & evening sees me with his eye drops & sits & waits for me to do his eye before rushing of to join his friends for his walk. Charlie will be 5 years old this month & he will then be of to be cardiology tested over 5 years old so fingers firmly crossed for 2011.
Lucy's Cavapoo pups are now 30 days old & today we have put them in their crate for the first time moving them from the whelping box. They are now very playful & respond to your voice & on seeing you. They wag their tails, lick your face, chew your fingers & play with toys. They will happily fall asleep in your arms & are starting to get their fluffy teddy bear coats. Their noses are now jet black & their eyes are now focused & dark. Ysabel is helpng Lucy with her pups & has recently started jumping in with them to help clean them & for them to try & suckle her but afraid her milk bar is empty. Her pup Primrose regularily sleeps with Lucy's pups & has now started gently playing with them which is a joy to watch.
Toni & Joe visited today to chose their pup from this litter as they have been vet checked & are over 4 weeks old now so you can see were their personalities are going. They have chose the biggest girl who is also very out going in the litter & I had started calling her Bertha but they have chose the name Poppy for her, so that looks like 2 Poppys in this litter as Debbie who is having one of the other girls is calling that one Poppy too.
Put photos on a slide show tonight, most of the photos are of them sleeping so enjoy " The Sleeping Cavaliers. "
